Find my iPhone saying iPhone is offline in iCloud.com

My iPhone 4s is running iOS 5 and has setup iCloud. I want to make sure “find my iphone” would work in case I lose the device. When I log into my iCloud account, the Find My iPhone feature keep showing up iPhone as “offline”. But the 3G is certainly working on my Phone. How to fix the issue?

If your phone or iPad gets the same issue, try the foolwoing method:
* On home screen, tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure you have turned find my iPhone on.
* Disable the location services and Find My iPhone, then re-enable the features.

  1. Still does not work iPhone4 with iOS 5.0.1 by using tip below, shows offline.

    * On home screen, tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure you have turned find my iPhone on.
    * Disable the location services and Find My iPhone, then re-enable the features.

  2. I think the problem is the preserved baseband. If you have updated the ios but have preserved the baseband, it will not work…

    • I have the same problem, I have iphone 5 and my phone is connected to the internet with 5 bars and when I log into Iclound/find my phone it is saying my phone if offline when it is connected to the internet. If it is something called preserved the baseband, what is that and how do you fix it?
