How to push subscribed holidays calendar to iCloud

I have subscribed to the birthdays and us holidays in iCal on my MacBook. How can I push calendars to the icloud and thus my iPhone/iPad devices?

Subscribed calendars don’t show up in iCloud.com calendars. There is not a solution for frequently, but you can try the following workaround.

* On your Mac, open iCal, click Calendars at the top-left and highlight the SUBSCRIPTIONS calendar you want to use.
* Click  File > Export… > export the subscribed calendar. Click File > New Calendar > iCloud, and name the new calendar.
Go to File > Import > Import and choose the calendar file. In the Adding New Events dialog, choose the calendar name under the iCloud heading.
* Then them will appear shortly at icloud.com web site.

  1. this is great for things like holidays that don’t change/need updated. i appreciate your help on this, but it is pretty poor on Apple’s part not to automatically include subscribed calendars in on devices AND icloud.com. if you have subscriptions that update yearly, ie sports schedules or other events, you will have to do this each time something changes or gets added. kinda of defeats the whole point of subscribing.

    thank you though

  2. This isn’t working for me. I am running 10.6.8. Is the iCal for my version different enough where this will not work? I do not get an iCloud option under New Calendar, for example.

  3. What if I don’t own a Mac? I have an iPod Touch and a Windows 7 PC. How can I push holidays to the iCloud browser application? How does Apple get away with not including something so BASIC as holidays on a calendar?!
